Water & Wastewater Utility Engineer - Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers
Kiewit is a leading infrastructure engineering firm seeking a Utility Engineer with Land Development and Water & Wastewater experience. The role involves designing and managing water distribution and storage systems while ensuring project execution aligns with budget, schedule, and quality targets.

Responsibilities
Design and manage water distribution, conveyance, and storage systems, including surface and groundwater supply
Lead infrastructure planning and optimization efforts for water resources and challenged/reuse supply systems
Oversee project execution using earned value management principles, ensuring budget, schedule, and quality targets are met
Coordinate work across engineering, GIS, CAD, and sub-consultants to ensure consistency and high-quality deliverables
Review and seal engineering calculations, drawings, and reports
Mentor junior staff and promote a culture of technical excellence
Maintain strong communication with clients, agencies, and internal teams
Support business development through proposals, scope/fee development, and client engagement
Collaborate with jurisdictions and contractors to ensure regulatory compliance and project success
Qualification
Required
10+ Years in Utilities design; infrastructure Engineering and/or design-build experience preferred
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related degree field
Professional Engineer license
Experienced use of MicroStation, ProjectWise, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, BlueBeam
Experienced with AWWA, WEF, and ASCE standard governance of Utility Engineering
Experiences with variety of design standards for Water & Wastewater systems
Experience with different construction techniques and constructability of Utilities and associated Civil aspects in Design-Build projects
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong inter-personal skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments
Ability to travel to assignments based on business needs
Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
Regular, reliable attendance
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required
