Lead/StaffTeqEngine is hiring a Lead Backend Engineer to help design and build large-scale, production-grade systems on AWS. The role involves taking ownership of backend architecture and delivery for modern, API-driven products that need to scale, while collaborating with product and engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Lead backend architecture and implementation for AWS-based systems
Design and build well-structured APIs (REST and/or GraphQL) that support web and mobile experiences
Own end-to-end delivery from system design to production rollout and operational support
Build resilient, scalable services with strong observability (logging, metrics, tracing)
Improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through practical engineering decisions
Set technical direction, establish patterns, and help other engineers execute effectively
Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into durable systems
Qualification
Required
Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScript
Deep AWS experience building production systems (serverless preferred)
Experience designing distributed systems and API-first platforms
Strong judgment around reliability, scaling, fault tolerance, and security basics
Comfortable working autonomously with high ownership and high standards
Clear communication, strong documentation habits, and pragmatic leadership
US-based only, full-time, remote
Preferred
Experience with multi-service architectures and event-driven systems
Experience supporting high-traffic consumer or mobile-backed applications
Experience with operational excellence practices (runbooks, incident response, SLOs)
