Responsibilities
Quickly ramp up on evolving regulations across multiple markets, particularly AML, KYC, and fraud prevention, and translate them into actionable, business-friendly solutions
Work closely with internal legal, compliance, and risk teams to interpret regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives
Identify opportunities to streamline compliance processes while maintaining adherence to regulatory standards
Ensure business objectives are met while balancing regulatory requirements in a way that minimizes unnecessary friction
Advocate for risk-based approaches and scalable compliance solutions tailored to business needs
Work cross-functionally to design compliance processes that balance regulatory obligations with an intuitive user experience
Identify inefficiencies in current compliance workflows and propose solutions that improve operations without increasing risk
Collaborate with legal and risk teams to ensure new product features align with regulatory standards in a pragmatic and business-friendly way
Proactively monitor compliance trends and recommend adjustments to maintain alignment with industry best practices
Assess third-party KYC and AML vendors to ensure their solutions align with business needs and compliance obligations
Act as the bridge between compliance, product, and engineering teams, ensuring regulatory requirements are well understood and effectively implemented
Communicate compliance requirements in a way that supports efficient decision-making without overcomplicating workflows
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and optimizing compliance solutions in fintech, banking, or financial services
Strong understanding of global AML, KYC, and financial crime regulations and their impact on digital products
Ability to quickly dive into regulatory requirements, identify constraints, and create practical, user-friendly solutions
Track record of improving compliance processes while maintaining a seamless user experience
Experience working directly with engineering teams—writing clear specs, defining requirements, and ensuring smooth implementation
Familiarity with third-party KYC and AML vendors, with the ability to evaluate and integrate their solutions effectively
Ability to navigate ambiguity, make pragmatic decisions, and drive compliance initiatives forward in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex compliance requirements into clear, actionable plans for cross-functional teams
Preferred
Experience optimizing identity verification and fraud prevention processes
Knowledge of digital identity verification technologies and fraud detection methodologies
Familiarity with compliance challenges in high-growth fintech environments
