Assistant Revenue Cycle Manager
UBMD Physicians' Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Revenue Cycle Manager to support the direction and daily operations of the revenue cycle teams. This role involves staff supervision, operational support, reporting, and process improvement with a focus on billing applications such as Epic.

Responsibilities
Support the Revenue Cycle Manager in providing leadership and oversight to revenue cycle staff, including billers, coders, and collections personnel. Assist with the day-to-day operations of the revenue cycle department, including billing, follow-up, collections, accounts receivable, referrals, insurance verification, and coding activities
Serve as a subject matter resource for revenue cycle workflows, including billing, collections, coding, intake processes, and insurance reimbursement guidelines
Support coding operations by assisting with coding questions, education, audits, and occasional coding as needed
Conduct routine audits of revenue cycle processes and workflows to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency
Assist in training and onboarding of new revenue cycle staff and provide ongoing education to existing team members
Help manage work distribution, issue escalation, and problem resolution among billing office personnel
Participate in performance management activities, including providing feedback, coaching, and input for staff evaluations
Collaborate proactively with clinical, administrative, and financial departments to support a streamlined and effective revenue cycle
Assist with recruitment efforts, including interviewing and onboarding of new revenue cycle team members
Support departmental goal-setting and performance initiatives in collaboration with the Revenue Cycle Manager and Chief Financial Officer
Prepare, review, and analyze revenue cycle reports related to charge entry, collections, accounts receivable, denials, charge lag, write-offs, and other key performance indicators
Monitor payer-specific and government billing requirements to ensure compliance with all state, federal, and payer regulations
Assist in tracking trends, identifying issues, and recommending corrective actions related to revenue cycle performance
Support payer communications and negotiations by gathering data, preparing reports, and assisting with presentations as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, healthcare administration, or a related field required
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in physician billing, collections, coding, or revenue cycle operations
Strong understanding of revenue cycle workflows and payer regulations
Experience with Epic or similar practice management/billing systems required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and team members
Preferred
Prior experience in a lead, senior, or supervisory role preferred
Medical Coding Certification preferred but not required
