Responsibilities
Overseeing bridge design and construction projects
Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations
Leading a team of engineers and technicians
Preparing, verifying, and evaluating bridge design plans
Overseeing construction coordination and project management
Reviewing comprehensive engineering designs, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and design calculations
Creating schedules and assigning work to optimize resource utilization
Conducting thorough reviews of calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical correspondence
Exploring innovative methods to minimize construction costs
Assessing workload to facilitate timely consultant assignments
Developing cost estimates for departmental initiatives
Scoping and conducting design field reviews
Creating and updating design project schedules for ongoing projects
Qualification
Required
Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
This position requires possession of a valid Driver's License
