The AutoCAD Drafter / OSP Designer will be responsible for creating accurate OSP fiber network designs and supporting various engineering teams to ensure project success.

Responsibilities
Create and modify detailed OSP fiber design drawings using AutoCAD and/or GIS platforms
Design aerial and underground fiber routes including conduit, handholes, poles, and splice locations
Prepare construction documents, plan and profile drawings, and fiber schematics
Interpret field survey data, utility records, and other engineering documents
Coordinate with permit agencies and utility companies to support permitting efforts
Maintain as-built records and documentation for ongoing and completed projects
Work with engineers and project managers to ensure timely and accurate project deliverables
Qualification
Required
Proficient in AutoCAD (2D drafting) – Civil 3D or Map 3D experience is a plus
1–3 years of experience in OSP fiber network design or similar utility drafting
Familiarity with aerial and underground OSP design standards
Understanding of NESC, NEC, and local permitting regulations
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, construction drawings, and utility maps
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred
Experience with fiber management systems (e.g., Vetro FiberMap, OSPInsight)
Knowledge of permitting processes and working with municipalities or DOTs
Background in telecommunications or broadband industry
