Responsibilities
Performs soil and concrete laboratory tests, such as compaction curves, moisture/density, gradation, triaxial, and some concrete compression testing
Effectively communicates test results to office staff, field personnel, and clients
Assists professional staff in supplying and maintaining field equipment
Assists professional staff in materials storage and disposal
Prepares lab documents
Picks up soil and concrete samples from various project sites
Qualification
Required
1 to 2 years of related work experience; entry-level candidates will be considered
Must have a good driving record and be drug free
Be able to stand for long periods of time
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform intermittent strenuous activity
Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook computer applications
Willing to acquire and maintain laboratory certifications and be able to follow proper procedures
Able to perform accurate computations
Have clear and concise verbal/written communication and computer skills
High School Diploma
Preferred
Some college or bachelor's degree in a relevant subject matter (Soil, Earth Sciences, Geology, or Civil Engineering)
1-2 years' experience working in a materials testing laboratory
