Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking a Lab-Based Researcher in Cancer Biology to join the faculty within the Section of Hematology & Medical Oncology. The successful candidate will lead research efforts in cancer etiology, development, and prevention while also engaging in education and mentorship of students and fellows.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead a research laboratory in pursuit of investigator-initiated and collaborative research projects that move the field of cancer research forward to the benefit of human health
Publish your discoveries in leading peer reviewed publications in your field
Collaborate with laboratory, clinical and population science researchers to advance translational research
Train and mentor postdoctoral fellows and graduate students in cancer research methodology and responsible conduct of research
Stimulate fellows and students to participate in mentored research projects and other scholarly activities
Teach a minimum of one graduate level course per year
Engage with Tulane Cancer Center leadership and the broader university community
Participate in the missions of the Section of Hematology & Medical Oncology, primarily research, teaching, and service
Engage in service responsibilities, including monthly attendance at faculty meetings and participation in University, School of Medicine, Departmental, or Section committee work

PhD-trained cancer researcher
Track record of peer-reviewed publications
Extramural funding
