Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

Assists in major and minor utility shut down requested by various departments, outside contractors, and in-house shops
Complies with all hospital standards and policies with a focus on safety, license requirements, smoking, attendance, and training
Installs new or replacement machinery, equipment, and fixture following applicable building codes
Maintains and repairs various equipment used in the hospitals, which include kitchen equipment, patient related equipment, various systems, and multifunction machines
Operates various machine tools. (Lathe, drill press, power saw, hydraulic press, etc.)
Performs equipment preventative maintenance
Performs routine inspections of building machines, noting deficiencies, and initiates repairs. As appropriate, responds to customer requests to address environmental deficiencies
Performs welding, brazing, and soldering in accordance with recognized and accepted standards and practices

Required

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Ability to operate standard tools, instruments and equipment used on the job
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches
Ability to solve problems and identify solutions
Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization
Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility
Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance and repair
