Lumsden McCormick CPA is seeking a Tax Intern for Spring 2027 to gain hands-on experience in the accounting profession. The intern will work on real jobs, develop skills in accounting, auditing, and tax theory, and provide high-quality service to clients.

Performs various tax practices to ensure accurate and reliable data and client satisfaction through high-quality service deliverables

Seeks out opportunities to develop industry and technical expertise in various accounting and auditing areas

Required

Junior standing (or above) in an accredited M.S. in Accounting Program or MBA program with a concentration in Accounting

In the process of completing educational coursework that will meet the NYS 150-hour education requirement for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) PRIOR to full-time hire

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and strong organization skills

Ability to travel to client locations, predominantly Western New York clients

A willingness to work in a team environment

Commit to a minimum of 18 hours a week for consideration for these positions for the entire length of the internship
