Clinical Information Systems Supervisor
Orthopedic Centers of Colorado is seeking a Clinical Information Systems Supervisor to develop and deliver training for their clinical information systems. The role involves assessing training needs, providing technical support, and collaborating with clinical system administrators to enhance system features and user training.

Responsibilities
Possess and demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of and skill in areas of healthcare applications, technology, and/or education as evidenced by experience in providing classroom and/or on-site training in health information systems
Conduct needs and skills assessments for end users to determine the type and duration of training needed, develop training documentation and outlines, and deliver training to end-users with varying levels of computer literacy and in a range of clinical modules/applications
Troubleshoot support for EHR/PM, provider dictation, patient intake and document management system databases
Act as a liaison and track IT support tickets from users and divisions
Works closely with clinical system administrators to evaluate new system features
Escalates software issues and makes suggestions for improvements, reaching out to the vendor, as directed
Tests new features/functions for application upgrades
Conducts onsite support coverage for application/process rollouts
Produce daily, monthly, annual reports for Operational workflows
Maintenance of EHR/PM, provider dictation, patient intake and document management system databases
Organize MIPS/MACRA data for reporting
Level 1 technical support for patient regarding the patient portal
Create users and designated preferences for technology solutions
Ability to understand healthcare software, explain technical concepts to non-technical professionals, and to translate administrative and operating requirements into clear, specific, and actionable curricula and then implement and teach those curricula
Assesses, plans, develops and implements educational programs for staff based on needs assessments, new computer applications, system updates, and other organizational goals and changes
Provides classroom, one-on-one and roaming support for end users, including support staff and clinicians
Updates and refines training program components based on user needs
Assists managers in establishing educational goals and plans regarding clinical applications for the department/clinic, for a specific group of employees, or a single employee with educational needs
Produces supporting documentation for end user training
Analyzes training needs and develops new programs or modifies and improves existing programs
Participates in preparation for application upgrades, to include training materials, workflow modification and staff training
Supervision of phone operators
Reviews metrics related to performance
Reviews centralized referral processes and tweaks under supervision of VP as needed
Provides referral reports on a monthly basis
Works with existing and new vendor for setup
Works with vendors to leverage volume discounts for better pricing
Reviews vendor lists currently at each legacy division and comes up with consolidation plans to align every location under One OCC
Works with finance team to develop a new system for inventory tracking
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a Healthcare Setting as an EHR Trainer and Clinical IT systems support role
Strong organization skills
Highly competent in technology solution processes
Highly detail oriented with excellent follow through to see tasks to completion
Strong and clear written and verbal communication
Possesses a high degree of self-motivation and produces high quality work with minimal supervision
Must be able to assess the training needs of end users and design effective training materials and techniques for individuals with different levels of computer literacy
Ability to understand and collaborate in creating, modifying, and implementing protocols, procedures and processes
Research, interpret, explain and apply information from computer software technical manuals and guides, videos and online materials
Use written and oral presentation and communication skills in order to effectively communicate to a diverse audience ranging from unskilled personnel to highly trained and experienced professionals with a wide range of computer skills at all levels
Gain an in-depth understanding of clinical and operational workflows in order to develop and implement workflow documentation for training in clinical software applications
Conduct clinical software application trainings
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to effectively relate with the public, patients, organizations, and other employees
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree with work or volunteer experience preferred in healthcare, teaching, informatics, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in adult education and training in a healthcare setting
5 years' experience working in a Healthcare Setting as an EHR Trainer and Clinical IT systems in a fast-paced environment with an organization larger than 300 employees
Working knowledge of Allscripts, Office 365, including SharePoint and Planner, ProviderFlow, etc
