Responsibilities

Independently develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products
Review requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products
Collaborate with program leadership, domain experts, peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met
Contribute to the completion of Program achievements by the release of accurate, error-free, affordable and producible engineering designs
Supports production meetings and manufacturing and test anomaly / discrepancy resolution
Provides weekly / monthly status and regularly present to peers / leadership

Required

Good communications skills (both oral and written)
Able to mentor and develop subordinates
Strong background in manufacturing and ATLO environments and processes
Willingness to travel

Preferred

Program management/Cost Account Management (CAM) experience
Capture Management/Proposal experience
Manufacturing and Assembly, Test, and Launch Ops (ATLO) experience
Experience in capital management
Certified LM-21 green belt
Demonstrated project leadership skills and the ability to lead and drive change
Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems
Experience should include a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5
Working Knowledge of EPDM
Knowledge of LM Space command media
