Responsibilities
Investigate and resolve issues on enterprise networks, including hardware and software components
Reproduce field issues in a lab environment for root cause analysis
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to develop solutions
Design and document network architecture
Assess existing technologies for performance and capacity gaps
Establish security, connectivity, and access parameters
Provide recommendations to optimize network infrastructure
Test and tune security devices and systems
Program routers and switches
Implement communications technologies (data and voice)
Manage network services from planning through implementation
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of network engineering, routing protocols, and network infrastructure
Hands-on experience with: Cisco routers and switches, DOCSIS, EPON, RPHY, iCMTS
Background in networking within a large communications company or technology/service provider
Solid understanding of network hardware/software and security technologies
