New Grad, Entry LevelAnchor Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to provide direct care to adolescents and adult patients with psychiatric disorders. The primary responsibility of the MHA is to ensure the safety and well-being of patients while employing the least restrictive interventions.

Responsibilities
Provides direct care to adolescents and adult patients with psychiatric disorders to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients
Ensures the patient's safety on the unit
Understands and uses the least restrictive interventions per facility policy and avoids seclusion and restraint whenever possible
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the CNO, ACNO, RN Manager, RN Supervisors, Charge RN and/or CEO
Qualification
Required
High school graduate or equivalent
Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia
Current CPR Certification
Current Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation certification
Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Perform ADL's with patients
Work is physically and mentally demanding
Extensive walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs
Must be able to lift or move over fifty (50) pounds
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field
Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a Mental Health Aide working with children, adolescents, geriatric and/or adults
