Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunication systems, specifically those involving Avaya, Cisco, and Nortel technologies
Ensuring seamless communication throughout the hospital
Responding quickly to emergency situations
Independently identifying and fulfilling responsibilities with minimal oversight, especially on critical matters
Exercising discretion and independent judgment, evaluating different options, and making informed decisions
Effectively prioritizing tasks, managing time efficiently, and ensuring deadlines are consistently met
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED, an associate degree in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field
3+ years of experience as a Telecom Technician, with specific experience in Avaya or Cisco, or Nortel systems preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment
Strong understanding of PBX, VoIP, nurse call systems, paging systems, and structured cabling
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working with hospital-specific communication systems such as nurse call and emergency response systems
Understands hospital business operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment
Open to travel when required
Preferred
Relevant certifications such as BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent preferred
