Responsibilities

Collaborate with hardware engineering and production teams to transition robotic designs from prototype development into volume production
Provide design for manufacturing feedback to simplify designs for highest production efficiency and scalability
Develop adaptable assembly processes to support product design iteration and variable quality of incoming material
Create flexible manufacturing concepts for high-volume production while minimizing complexity and cost
Generate process documentation, manufacturing instructions, and equipment specifications
Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, controls and software issues in production environments
Optimize manufacturing processes to maximize the number of supported product variants
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product launches and production ramp-up

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience using one or more of the following CAD technologies: AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, CREO, BIM360, SketchUp or KeyShot
Experience in prototyping
Experience in technical writing in a relevant field
Experience working in an Agile environment
Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
Experience with detailed design of electro-mechanical systems
Understanding of principals, theories and concepts in mechanical engineering and ability to apply them to product design
Experience with full lifecycle development

Preferred

Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent, or Master's degree
Experience embedding design within product teams for agile design and development collaboration
Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
Proficiency in mechanical assembly methods, electrical integration, testing and troubleshooting
