Generally, instructors teach introductory-level courses in history
Occasionally, instructors teach upper-division courses in the same fields
Courses available vary from one semester to the next, depending on need and funding
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a Master's Degree in History or related field, with academic background commensurate with teaching in the discipline
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Have effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate successfully with faculty, staff, and students
Demonstrate the ability to relate to and establish rapport with a college student population
Exercise good judgment and self-motivation
Maintain confidentiality of records and information
Possess strong interest in student success
Be committed to quality teaching
Preferred
Terminal degree in appropriate field
Previous teaching experience in similar courses
