CNC Set-Up Technician

DEMA Engineering Co. is a world leader in the development of proportioning chemical dispensers and fluid control products. They are seeking a CNC Set-Up Technician who will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing technical issues with CNC equipment, managing CNC program files, and working closely with Manufacturing Engineering on prototype part machining.

Responsibilities

Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part program
Set-Up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three-and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads
Measure and evaluate parts using precision measuring devices including calipers, micrometers and gauges
Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards
Read and follow blueprints, sketches, diagrams
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations

Required

Ability to troubleshoot and repair technical issues and problems with all CNC equipment
Ability to create, manage, optimize, and maintain CNC program files in G-code and Mazatrol software for mills and lathes

Demonstrated experience with G-Code programming
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience programming, set-up and operating CNC Mills and/or CNC Lathes
Must be able to stand up to 8 hours a day, lift
Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include standing, lifting 40 pounds, bending, pushing, and walking

Preferred

Experience with Haas, Okuma and/or Mazak
Manufacturing using Lean methodology experience
