Responsibilities
Prepare accurate take-of materials, subcontracting, and production items for projects
Acquire plans for projects
Bid accurately using Bid2Win software
Prepare and deliver bids
Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders for projects
Assist operations in administrative duties on projects
Furnish bid information for tracking purposes, follow bid process, and work on improving bid process
Prepare job files for operations
Keep job log up-to-date
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience and Proficiency with Bid2Win Software
Knowledge of methods and specifications in the utility construction field
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports and business correspondence
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Excellent organizational and communication skills, business management skills, and have general knowledge of OSHA regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred
Previous utility construction project estimator experience
Ability to use Bid2Win software efficiently and proficiently
