Industrial Engineer, LFP Cell Manufacturing
Tesla's LFP Cell Manufacturing team at our Reno/Sparks Campus is seeking a motivated entry-level Industrial Engineer to support cutting-edge manufacturing processes. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production and efficiency while contributing to sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities
Assist in capacity planning and labor forecasting for manufacturing areas, using data analysis to support operational efficiency
Collaborate with operations, management, and stakeholders to assess productivity metrics, optimize staffing, and implement labor plans aligned with goals and budgets
Support the development of optimization models for inventory, job scheduling, material requirements, and flow processes
Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and scalability, applying Lean, PDCA, and other methodologies
Contribute to site layout optimizations for production, material flow, and facilities using tools like AutoCAD
Conduct time studies, standard time analysis, and basic data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements
Help maintain manufacturing data, plans, and systems, with guidance from senior team members
Engage in cross-functional teams to drive projects and solve ambiguous problems at a systems level
Qualification
Required
Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
0-3 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or academic projects count—manufacturing or engineering exposure preferred)
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations
Basic proficiency in tools like AutoCAD for layouts and standard time methods (e.g., MTM, MOST); training available
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative team spirit
Eagerness to learn and demonstrated problem-solving abilities in dynamic settings
Preferred
Familiarity with discrete event simulation software (e.g., ARENA, FlexSim), SQL, or Python
