Project Engineer - Water/wastewater
Wharton-Smith, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work in the Water/Wastewater Division in the Tampa, FL area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of specific project tasks as assigned by the Project Manager, including planning for commercial projects and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors.

Responsibilities
Primarily performs duties in planning for commercial projects
Maintain project logs (i.e. Submittal Log, RFI log, etc.)
Maintain and update schedules
Identify need for and write RFI’s
Prepare, review and process shop drawings
Maintain as-built drawings
Collect and assemble O&M materials
Purchase Order and Subcontract Scope analysis and drafting
Material purchasing and expediting
Document distribution
Value engineering design and proposals
Coordinating with Subcontractors and Vendors
Contract document distribution to job site, vendors and subcontractors
Visits project sites to monitor progress conformance to plans and standards
Coordinate facility startup activities
Provide the Project Manager with support and accurate information to maximize project management effectiveness
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
1-2 years of experience as Project Engineer preferred
