Responsibilities

Advising clients on various applicable statutes and regulations as they apply to their business

Navigating and developing compliance policies and procedures and disclosures

Working primarily with attorneys in the national Consumer Financial Services Practice and Financial Services & Capital Markets Strategic Business Unit

Mentoring and training junior team members while supporting clients and senior attorneys

Preparing final product deliverables

Delegating work to junior team members

Qualification

Consumer finance complianceRegulatory experienceTILAFCRABar licenseInterpersonal skillsProject managementMentoring

Required

Minimum of ten years of experience preferred

Experience working with financial institutions and consumer lenders

Experience navigating and developing compliance policies and procedures and disclosures

Experience advising clients on applicable statutes and regulations

Familiarity with the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA)

Familiarity with TILA-RESPA Disclosures Rule (TRID)

Familiarity with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)

Familiarity with Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA)

Familiarity with Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA)

Familiarity with state consumer protection laws

Recent law firm experience preferred

Excellent academic credentials

Commitment to the community

Superior interpersonal skills

Demonstrated record of working well under pressure

Exceptional judgment

Ability to effectively handle the management of multiple projects and associates

Ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action to clients and junior attorneys

Desire to mentor and train junior team members

Experience with preparing final product deliverables

Experience in delegating work to junior team members

Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which they are applying or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible
