Responsibilities

Support the delivery of our existing portfolio of tunnelling projects in the U.S. and Canada

Oversight of staff and execution of field investigation programs to collect data for use in design, condition assessments and the preparation of Reports

Contribution to detailed analyses for our projects involving tunnels and underground structures

Development of field instrumentation programs and evaluation of collected data

Management of staff producing design solutions, reports, and contributions to/reviews of specifications and drawings

Writing reports for submission to clients, including design-related technical memoranda and Reports

Direct client engagement working with guidance from senior management; including liaising with clients, responding to queries, and attending design and progress meetings

Contribution to and preparation of proposals for submission to clients

Ability to lay out/develop a design program and independently manage a team of staff

Managing and mentoring junior/graduate engineers and supporting their development

Qualification

Required

Bachelors in civil, structural or geotechnical engineering is required

Professional engineer (PE) license in New Jersey, New York or ability to obtain a license within 12 months

8-15 years of experience in engineering consultancy (not including education), experience in New York preferred

Proficient in the use of structural software: STRAND7, SAP, STAAD or equivalent

Proficient in the use of geotechnical software, this may include Plaxis, GeoStudio packages/Slide, Rocscience packages, geotechnical data management (GINT/Holebase)

Demonstratable record in design with experience in geotechnical engineering, ground characterization for soil and rock and a working knowledge of concrete, steel and foundation design

Strong references from past managers or clients

Interest in underground design and construction for the transport, water or waste water Sectors and multidisciplinary working experience

Preferred

Masters in a related field

NCTI Certified

A working knowledge of BIM tools (Bentley/Autodesk) would also be advantageous
