Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications supporting large-scale, transaction-intensive systems
Analyze and modify legacy programs to improve performance, reliability, and scalability
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a high-availability environment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, QA, and operations
Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, and modernization initiatives
Participate in code reviews and documentation efforts
Occasionally travel for in-person sessions, planning, or critical project phases
Qualification
Required
5+ years of COBOL development experience
Strong experience in mainframe or enterprise environments
Working knowledge of JCL, CICS, and DB2
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
Willingness to travel occasionally to Atlanta, GA or Omaha, NE
Preferred
Experience supporting high-volume, transaction-based systems is a plus
Exposure to financial services, payments, or banking systems preferred
