2026 Guidance & Control Systems Engineer II - Onsite - Tucson, AZ
Raytheon is a leading defense contractor focused on providing solutions to help protect the nation and its allies. They are seeking a Systems Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer to develop and integrate embedded software algorithms for tactical missile systems while collaborating with a team to ensure system performance meets mission objectives.

Responsibilities
Development, integration, and testing of embedded tactical missile flight code
Definition and execution of system level performance studies and analyses to inform the development and integration of new capabilities, refinement of existing capabilities, or to address obsolescence
Work within an agile framework to lead development of backlogs, plans, and metrics
Provide experience and guidance to help the program train new engineers and execute efficiently and effectively
Support missile performance analysis including model development, system optimization, and Monte Carlo assessments with expected system disturbances
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
GNC, Signal Processing, and/or Modeling / Simulation experience
Course work or other relevant engineering experience in missile system applications to include at least one of the following: Digital and/or modern control systems, Dynamics, Kalman filter design, Signal processing, Navigation systems, sensors, and algorithms including GPS/INS systems or other Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) systems
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Specific majors: Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
Experience with MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and/or Object-Oriented design and Linux operating systems
Class projects, professional internships, or academic research demonstrating the ability to apply technical course work or computer skills
Effective communication or organization skills
