Junior Systems Architect

Responsibilities

The Systems Architect develops, maintains, and supports IT enterprise infrastructure
Provide technical insight and guidance to stakeholders and other cross-functional programs regarding system architecture and infrastructure planning
Design and develop system models for existing enterprise infrastructure/environments
Create, update, and maintain detailed network topology diagrams and supporting metadata for 54 states and territories
Capture, document, and store the current, as-is, enterprise infrastructure to inform modernization efforts and future, to-be, architecture planning
Perform data validation techniques and translate complex technical/network infrastructures into clear visuals for use in enterprise planning and cybersecurity assessments
Collaborate with cybersecurity, program, and leadership to ensure architecture documentation supports compliance, security, and operational objectives
Support enterprise IT modernization efforts by identifying opportunities for improvement in system design, integration, and documentation practices
Conduct and support technical exchange meetings with stakeholders for product creation and delivery
Maintain current and up-to-date knowledge of evolving technologies, tools, and industry standards relevant to network architecture, cybersecurity, and data modeling
Create, develop, and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures related to architecture design and modeling practices
Work independently to manage assigned tasks, projects, deliverables to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organization guidelines

Skills: Communication, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise IT Architecture, Network Architecture, Systems Design
Experience: 1 + years of related experience
US Citizenship Required: Yes
Education: Bachelor's degree in IT preferred. High School Diploma; AA/AS/BA/BS preferred or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
Experience: 1-3 years of related experience in Network Engineer, Systems Engineering, and/or IT Operations environment
Technical Skills: Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Magic Draw, draw.io, Cameo) and validation techniques
Technical Skills: Experience using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) for ticket management and workflow tracking within an ITIL framework
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of network and systems architecture principles and IT environments
Technical Skills: Familiarity with SharePoint, Azure, and other Microsoft technologies
Certifications: Ability to obtain appropriate certifications to achieve a minimum of a DoD IAT Level II (Sec+ or equivalent) within 60 days of start date
Certifications: Ability to obtain ITIL v4 Foundation within 6 months of start date
Security Clearance Level: Active SECRET security clearance required and must be maintained
