Manufacturing Process Engineer - Die Casting

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will develop, improve, and support die casting and related manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve product quality.

Responsibilities

Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce scrap
Develop and maintain process documentation (work instructions, process sheets, control plans)
Lead process optimization efforts for die casting operations focused on cycle time improvement
Partner with production to troubleshoot process issues and drive root cause solutions
Support tooling, fixture, and process improvements to improve quality and repeatability
Introduce and validate new equipment, processes, and automation
Track and improve key production metrics (scrap rates, downtime, cycle time, OEE)
Lead root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC, etc
Support Safe Launch processes and customer requirements for new product introduction
Lead and track corrective and preventive actions to improve process performance and product quality
Collaborate with the Vice President of Quality anticipating problems, providing input on solutions, reacting productively to change to enhance in-process inspection methods
Work cross-functionally with leadership to support continuous improvement initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment (co-op/intern experience accepted)
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and mechanical aptitude
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills and ability to influence others without direct authority
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Preferred

Experience in die casting, machining, or metal manufacturing preferred
MRP/ERP experience preferred
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or SPC
