The City of Irvine is seeking collaborative and customer service oriented individuals for the role of Part-time Library Assistant I in its new public library system. The Library Assistant will provide a wide variety of paraprofessional and technical library assistance to the public under direct or general supervision.

Responsibilities

Assist library customers in the use of library services and technology, and provides basic information and research assistance to the public

Assist with collection maintenance as directed

Assist with implementing general library programming and other library-related activities

Assist with interpreting and applying library policies and procedures for customers

Participate in community and outreach events as directed

Assist with the supervision of facility rentals and enforce rules applicable to that reservation
