Postdoctoral Researcher
Pennington Biomedical Research Center is part of the LSU Agricultural Center, focusing on agricultural-based research. The role involves advancing microdevice technology for quality management of aquatic species, including designing and fabricating devices and coordinating with various programs.
Research
Responsibilities
Advancing the microdevice technology program at the Aquatic Germplasm and Genetic Resources Center (AGGRC) and Aquatic Germplasm and Genetic Resources—Center of Research Excellence (AGGR-CORE)
Designing and fabricating microarchitectures and microchip devices capable of addressing the diversity of scale and forms of genetic resources found in aquatic species
Designing, integrating, and fabricating electronic sample-quality-capture systems
Coordinating and integrating with other AGGRC and AGGR-CORE programs
Developing manuscripts and conference presentations to disseminate information on work performed
Work after hours, including weekends, will be required periodically
Qualification
Required
Candidate must have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field
Strong experience in project management, process and chemical engineering, additive manufacturing (e.g., 3-D printing), computational analysis, integrated mechano-electrical platform development, and microfluidic chip design are required
Candidate must be able to lead interdisciplinary teams, collaborate in an intersectoral environment, and have strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred
Experience with coding is preferred
