Senior Product / Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

Provide manufacturability guidance to design engineers for new products or product redesigns to enable the best manufacturing processes are enabled by the design
Develop clear production assembly/test instructions for operations personnel to maintain efficient production. These instructions include formal Work Instructions, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP / PAT), engineering memos, and Electronic Historical Record (EHR) entries
Define and schedule the development of equipment to meet production requirements for operations department. These include assembly fixtures and tools, production flow-line systems, and test equipment
Assure and maintain product integrity, and quality in production products. The Senior Product engineer does this by collaborating with other Moog resources to resolve production problems, performing Material Review Board (MRB) analyses, dispositioning Non-Conformances (NCs) in a timely manner, and assisting in evaluation for possible notice of escape (NOE) to customers
Track key company metrics including, but not limited to, first pass yield (FPY), and product cost objectives to maintain and improve company performance and goals. These metrics may be used to support the goals of other departments
Develop a thorough understanding of all design principles associated with assigned products. Support the facilitation of design changes driven by the above items by redlining drawings, attending Change Review Board (CRB) and starting the EO process
Train, coordinate and evaluate the efforts of Product Engineers, Associate Product Engineers and Co-ops to support department goals
Identify areas for producibility and quality improvements in production assembly/test and product design. Initiate these changes and plan for schedule impacts

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing)
8+ years of Engineering work experience in a production environment

Preferred

Active DoD Secret clearance
Prefer that the Engineering degree is in Mechanical Engineering
Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Hands on experience interacting with shop floor employees
Experience in aerospace industry
Detailed working knowledge of hydraulic or mechanical actuation products or electronics (or related technologies), both top level and subassemblies
Proven experience coordinating and interfacing with customers and/or suppliers on complex projects or issues
Knowledge of and demonstrated practice of Advanced Product Quality Planning tools and techniques
Knowledge in areas of Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, Project Planning, Product line transfer and Data Acquisition and Analysis
Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
