Responsibilities
Perform general specimen processing support functions
Enter and verify specimen data accurately and efficiently
Perform presort, centrifugation, aliquoting, and imaging/microfilming activities
Transport processed specimens to designated laboratory areas
Maintain productivity and quality standards in a production environment
Follow all safety, compliance, and operational procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Communicate effectively with staff at all levels
Demonstrate flexibility in responding to customer and operational demands
Qualification
Required
Ability to perform high-volume data entry with accuracy
Ability to learn and understand specimen types and related test orders
Ability to follow changing compliance regulations
Flexibility to adapt to changing daily priorities
Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required
Ability to meet productivity, quality standards, and departmental turnaround times
Data entry with the ability to achieve high keystroke accuracy and speed
Basic computer proficiency
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Ability to work safely in a biohazard environment
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred
Previous laboratory experience preferred
Medical background with knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Previous hospital laboratory experience preferred
Previous production environment experience preferred
