Responsibilities

Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
Drive cultural change and behavioral adoption of modern development practices and AI-enhanced coding
Own, report on and drive Developer productivity KPIs by measuring and improving velocity, code quality and delivery speed (pull request cycle time, AI usage rates, and code quality scores)
Drive daily adoption and governance of GitHub Copilot, Copilot Chat, and other AI coding assistants across all development teams, with metrics and coaching
Ensure all code (sql including stored procedures and .net) are version-controlled, deduplicated, and performance-optimized
Rationalize and consolidate source code repositories to eliminate sprawl and improve maintainability and overhead by ensuring APIs are created and managed by the respective Platforms
Define and enforce standards for code review, branching strategies, commit hygiene and repository structure
Integrate and manage static analysis tools, performance profiling tools, and automated quality gates
Lead training, enablement and compliance programs for Developers on AI generated code Git workflows, AI tooling, and best practices, working through any impediments and solutioning
Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps, and IT teams to embed AI into development workflows and onboarding
Implement and monitor CI/CD pipelines, security scanning tools, and compliance frameworks

Required

Proven experience leading developer productivity or engineering enablement initiatives
Strong understanding of Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Copilot Chat, or similar AI coding tools
Expertise in source code governance, repository management, and code quality enforcement
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, YAML)
Experience with database development standards and SQL code review workflows
Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) and 10 years of experience

Preferred

Experience with GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
Knowledge of cloud-native development and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Understanding of ethical and compliance considerations in AI-generated code
