Responsibilities

Monitor and interpret legislation, regulatory updates, and best practices across North America, with a global lens

Advise product and engineering teams on compliance requirements, including sales tax, identity and KYC, payment, data privacy, and electronic invoicing

Engage with regulatory authorities and trade bodies, helping to influence Sage’s strategic direction in compliance

Create clear, actionable assets and guidance to support internal and external stakeholders

Become the subject matter expert for US compliance, building strong cross-functional relationships

Required

Proven experience reviewing legislation, tax, or accounting standards

A professional qualification in accounting or tax (e.g. CPA preferred) or equivalent practical experience

Ideally you will be a part qualified or fully qualified accountant

Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex regulatory content

Preferred

At least 2 years post-qualification experience in a compliance, tax, or regulatory role preferred

Experience using AI and software in a business capacity preferred

Fluent Spanish is desirable (but not essential), particularly for translating Spanish compliance materials into English
