They are seeking an exceptional C++ engineer to join their systems team, focusing on building and optimizing a large-scale CPU/GPU distributed compute platform for strategy research.

Responsibilities

Engineer and evolve core C++ services that drive a high-throughput, multi-tenant CPU/GPU compute platform
Improve how large-scale research workloads are scheduled, executed, and monitored across distributed resources
Optimise execution paths at both the application and infrastructure layers, focusing on latency, throughput, and efficiency
Design and refine resource scheduling, caching, and workload isolation mechanisms to maximise platform performance
Build tooling that exposes clear, real-time insight into job behaviour, resource usage, and performance characteristics
Work directly with highly technical users to understand compute-intensive workflows and remove bottlenecks
Take ownership of critical components within the platform, contributing to long-term architectural direction
Operate as a senior technical voice, helping set standards for performance, reliability, and maintainability

Required

5-10 years of experience in systems, infrastructure, or performance-critical backend engineering
Deep, daily experience writing high-quality, modern C++ in production environments
Experience in HPC, distributed compute, graphics, ML platforms, or large-scale research infrastructure
Strong understanding of Linux internals, including scheduling, memory management, I/O, and profiling
Proven ability to reason about and optimise CPU and GPU workloads
Exposure to GPU programming or GPU-aware workload orchestration
Excellent debugging skills across complex, distributed systems
Solid grounding in concurrency, resource management, and systems-level design
Confidence working closely with demanding technical users and translating their needs into robust platform solutions

Preferred

Python familiarity for tooling, automation, or user interfaces
Background in performance analysis, profiling, or low-level optimisation at scale
