Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Python-based backend services in a cloud-native environment
Build scalable APIs and backend systems that support satellite operations and real-time data processing
Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools
Work closely with product and systems teams to translate complex operational requirements into reliable backend services
Optimize performance, reliability, and observability across distributed systems
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation to support rapid, safe releases

Required

Strong proficiency in Python for backend development
Experience with AWS, including services such as Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, and RDS
Solid understanding of containerized applications and serverless architectures
Experience designing and troubleshooting RESTful or event-driven APIs
Experience designing and troubleshooting distributed NoSQL and relational databases
Experience designing and troubleshooting caching layers and multi-tier backend architectures
Familiarity with Terraform or similar IaC tools
Proficiency with Git and GitHub or similar version control systems
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
3+ years of professional experience as a backend or software engineer (Python preferred)

Preferred

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred, but not required)
Experience working in aerospace or a startup engineering environment
Active or eligible security clearance strongly preferred
