Oracle EBS Database Administrator
Tharseo IT is seeking experienced Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Database Administrators (DBAs) to support the administration, performance, security, and availability of Oracle EBS R12 environments. The EBS DBA will collaborate with various teams to ensure stable and optimized ERP environments.

Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle EBS databases (R12.x with Oracle Database 19c or similar)
Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and CPU/PSU deployments across environments
Manage EBS application tier components including:
Concurrent managers
Application listeners
Web/Forms components
Workflow services
Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Pump
Perform environment refreshes/cloning, including cleanup, post-clone steps, configuration synchronization, and validation
Coordinate with development and testing teams to ensure environment readiness for each project cycle
Maintain environment inventory, instance mappings, and configuration baselines
Monitor database health, performance metrics, AWR/ASH reports, and system resource utilization
Tune SQL queries, optimize indexing, adjust initialization parameters, and resolve bottlenecks
Identify and resolve issues related to locking, concurrency, long-running jobs, and failed concurrent requests
Troubleshoot issues involving:
EBS application layers
Concurrent processing failures
Database connectivity
ORA errors
Patch conflicts
Workflow errors
Support production operations, including on-call rotations for critical incidents
Implement and maintain database security, user roles, privileges, encryption options, and auditing features
Apply hardening standards aligned with federal or regulated-industry security expectations
Ensure compliance with organizational controls, data protection policies, and ERP governance frameworks
Support audit evidence collection for configuration, patching, access control, and data integrity
Develop and maintain DBA documentation including runbooks, SOPs, backup procedures, environment diagrams, and maintenance schedules
Maintain detailed logs of configuration changes, releases, patch cycles, and environment refreshes
Document troubleshooting steps and root-cause analysis for recurring issues
Work with technical analysts on RICEW performance, data flows, and integration-related tuning
Support functional teams with performance issues affecting P2P, O2C, financial close, or reporting
Partner with infrastructure/security teams on OS, storage, network, firewalls, and certificate management impacting EBS
Provide DBA support for upgrades, enhancements, system migrations, and modernization initiatives
Participate in architectural discussions, capacity planning, and environment roadmap sessions
Recommend improvements to system reliability, scalability, monitoring, and automation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of Oracle DBA experience, including 3+ years supporting Oracle EBS R12 environments
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a government clearance
CompTIA Security+ certification
Strong hands-on experience with: Oracle Database 19c (or similar), RMAN backup/recovery, Data Pump, SQL/PLSQL tuning, EBS application tier management
Proven experience with environment cloning, refreshes, patching, and performance troubleshooting
Proficiency with Linux/UNIX administration and shell scripting
Experience supporting ERP systems in public-sector or regulated environments
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to work in a remote environment with occasional travel onsite to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas
Preferred
Oracle Database 19c OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) or higher
Oracle EBS R12 Applications DBA certification
Experience with high-availability technologies: RAC, Data Guard, Active Data Guard
Experience with monitoring tools (OEM/Cloud Control, AWR/ASH)
Familiarity with OCI, AWS, or Azure hosting for Oracle databases (high-level knowledge only)
Experience with ITIL-based change management and incident/problem management
Automation skills using Python, Ansible, or similar tools
