The role involves preparing, staging, and performing startups and shutdowns of hardware, as well as diagnostics and troubleshooting of IT equipment.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Server/Network/rPDU device rack, stack and cable incl. Cable Management
Rack/MOR Cabling - General supervised Deployment support
Decommission IT equipment (server and network under MSFT supervision), DBD removal only (does not perform any scanning)
Physical audits of datacenter assets
Basic Server (Discrete/Rack-based) repair following documented procedures
Physically assist in moving and racking equipment
Maintain data center facilities removing debris and empty boxes once no longer needed
Hard drive shredding
Moving Locked DBD Bins to shred area
Audit and inventory management support & spine clean up
Perform rack movement
Qualification
Required
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays
Preferred
Previous datacenter experience a plus
