Responsibilities

Manages research support for research and clinical needs
Contributes to defining the direction of research design
Prepares project designs and determines cost estimates
Directs and manages research support services for University-wide research
Meets with clients and evaluates problems and defines scope of projects
Discusses and negotiates project designs and costs with prospective clients
Determines and develops material specifications and purchases
Assigns design projects to staff
Ensures technical effectiveness and manages departmental operation for research support services
Monitors project schedules and assigns billing charges
Ensures the quality of the design of research instruments
Consults with research committees on research instrument designs
Develops and monitors department budget
Administers and oversees short and long term department goals
May perform other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

Proven experience with RF coil design in MRI or related fields, particularly for low frequency
Demonstrated experience with RF coil construction and system integration including both single and multichannel coils
Expertise in receive and transmit chain electronics, both design and fabrication
Excellent team player, ability to collaborate, and communicate effectively in a team setting
Proficient in integration of multiple design elements in completing a system application
Demonstrated track record of strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to keep on track and meet deadlines, provide feedback on process, yielding high productivity
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and seven years of related experience in a research development facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience
