Vice President, Studio Design

They are seeking a Vice President, UX Studio Designer to provide technical expertise in user experience activities and mentor junior designers, while collaborating across teams to enhance user experience.

Responsibilities

Providing guidance and technical expertise for the most complex user experience activities that include user research and testing, interactive design, and visual design
Review documentation of research findings presented to product and development teams, as well as new and modified user personals
Participate and provide guidance in the creation of concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications to meet project schedules
Synthesize situations and information across multiple factors
Seek to build their expertise while applying company policies and procedures in the resolution of a variety of issues
Comfortable giving design feedback
Build effective relationships with people on their immediate team and across other teams
Get involved with team process and organization
Help to mentor and train more junior designers
Be a strong communicator that checks for understanding, asks questions to understand others’ point of view, and advocates for the user experience across the firm
Operate from a Studio centric model, receiving general instructions on routine work from a Lead Designer
Regularly exercise discretion and execute under limited supervision

Required

Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human computer interaction or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
5-10 years of experience required
A portfolio of your work is required - applications without one will not be considered

Preferred

Advanced degree preferred
Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
