Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, including preparation of specifications, claims, and responses to office actions
Conduct patentability searches, freedom-to-operate analyses, and due diligence for IP portfolios
Provide strategic counseling to clients on patent strategy, portfolio management, and infringement risks
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transactions, litigation support, and emerging tech issues like AI and machine learning
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD), admitted to practice law in TX
Registration to practice before the USPTO
Technical background required: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related STEM field
5+ years of experience in patent prosecution, preferably at a law firm or in-house IP department
Proven track record of managing complex IP matters, and experience with AI or emerging tech patents
