Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in all phases law cases
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, financial affidavits, and settlement agreements
Organize and maintain case files with timely and accurate court filings
Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing updates and gathering information
Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, depositions, and mediations
Conduct research on relevant laws, case law, and legal articles
Prepare trial exhibits, timelines, and summaries
Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including assembling evidence and witness materials
Maintain and monitor attorney calendars and case deadlines
Coordinate with courts and opposing counsel for filings and scheduling
Track billable time accurately and assist in client billing processes
Draft internal and external correspondence and maintain documentation standards
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of paralegal or high-level legal assistant experience
Familiarity with Maine court rules and procedures highly valued
Strong legal drafting, writing, and research skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal practice management software (Clio experience is a plus)
Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple cases at once
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional, positive attitude with a proactive, team-oriented mindset
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Client-focused, solutions-driven approach to case management
High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
Preferred
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred
