Quality Technician / Weld Inspector, 1st shift (West Bend)
Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician / Weld Inspector to support their quality assurance processes. The role involves gathering and analyzing data, performing inspections, and ensuring products meet specifications while collaborating with engineering and production staff.

Responsibilities
Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits
Troubleshoot print and bill of materials problems in cooperation with Engineering and production staff
Recommend methods of assembly, welding, and production
Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part, finished material, and products, ensuring conformance to specifications
Test finished products for paint quality and thickness, welding quality, dimensions, fit and appearance
Perform standard inspection tests including weld testing UT, PT and VT testing is a plus
Route product for re-work
Complete all required records and paperwork including, but not limited to, inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders
Process purchase damage numbers when incorrect material is received
Ensure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation
Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standard
Communicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and quality
Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability
Make recommendations regarding safe working methods
Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures
Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and job shop operations
Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Ability to inspect welds and fabricated parts for quality compliance
Ability to perform well in a team environment
Self-motivator and must be flexible to accommodate the needs of your team
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, routings, work orders, engineering specifications and safety regulations
Ability to complete routine ISIR reports and documentation
Ability to effectively present information to engineering and other employees of the organization
Preferred
CMM / PCDMIS / Romer Arm Operations or knowledge is a plus
