Ability to handle and process specimens accurately. Entering data accurately into laboratory information systems (LIS)
Following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure safety and maintain quality standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established turn-around times
Ensuring the lab is adequately stocked with the necessary supplies and hazardous materials are disposed of properly
Performing administrative duties as needed to include resolving pending logs and account maintenance in work queues
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Maintaining maintenance logs
Training new staff members
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
1-2 months of on-the-job training and orientation
Ability to handle and process specimens accurately
Entering data accurately into laboratory information systems (LIS)

Preferred
3 – 5 years previous experience processing specimens in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred
