They are seeking a Soils Lab Intern to gain hands-on experience in their labs by performing soil and concrete laboratory tests, effectively communicating test results, and assisting professional staff with various tasks.

Responsibilities
Perform soil and concrete laboratory tests, such as compaction curves, moisture/density, gradation, triaxial and R-value tests and some concrete compression testing
Effectively communicate test results to office and field personnel as well as client contacts
Assist professional staff in supplying and maintaining field equipment
Assist professional staff in materials storage and disposal
Prepares lab documents for internal client’s compression testing of concrete
Pick up soil and concrete samples from various project sites
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in a Soil or Earth Sciences, Geology or Civil Engineering degree program
Must be in good academic standing
Must have taken at least a soils class
Must have a clean driving record
Must be drug free
Must be able to physically transport 50 lbs. on a consistent basis
Must have the physical ability to perform strenuous activity

Good understanding of the construction industry
Computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
