Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have expertise and scholarly interests in Civil or Environmental Engineering
These areas should include (but not be limited to) environmental water quality, water/wastewater treatment, modeling wastewater treatment and water distribution systems, biosolids treatment, bioremediation, and aquatic chemistry
The position requires a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, integrating service and research, and scholarship focused on the institution’s educational mission
The position will be housed in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering

Qualification

Ph.D. in Environmental EngineeringTeaching undergraduate coursesProfessional engineering registrationB.S. in Civil EngineeringSustainable water treatment designCommitment to diversityPrior teaching experienceConsulting experienceABETEffective communication

Required

Ph.D. in Environmental or Civil Engineering or closely related field
Ability to teach courses focused on areas such as sustainable water/wastewater treatment design, environmental water quality, modeling environmental systems
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college/university
Commitment to an academic culture that is inclusive of a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff
Effective oral and written communication with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service
Professional engineering registration in the U.S. or the ability to become licensed within five years

Preferred

Prior teaching experience at the college-level
Consulting or industrial experience
Experience with professional organizations such as ABET, ASCE, and ASEE is highly desirable
