NEOGOV is part of the New Jersey Courts, which operates with high standards of integrity and quality service. The Clerk to the Grand Jury will support jury management and court operations functions, providing excellent customer service and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

Interacting with and providing excellent customer service to court users, judges, colleagues and county personnel over the phone, in person and on video technology

Recording confidential court proceedings

Establishing and/or maintaining record keeping and tracking spreadsheets

Maintaining accurate logs and a record of the juror vote

Accessing the Jury Management System database to process, record and update juror records

Assisting with juror check-in both online and in-person

Explaining judiciary policies or procedures to jurors

Assessing and responding to juror technology needs

Answering questions posed by judges, the public, co-workers, and/or supervisors

Updating and maintaining data in various databases

Responding to facilities/room requests

Assisting with interpreter coordination

Processing court audio requests

Processing incoming and outgoing mail

Hosting court proceedings via internet platforms

Records destruction

Distributing forms and publications for court users

Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

Three years of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments

Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed

For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching to perform the essential duties of the position

For some positions, the selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds, in order to perform essential duties of the position

Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position

Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations

Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting

In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the 'New Jersey First Act,' all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey

Preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office is helpful

Knowledge of virtual platforms including Zoom and Teams is strongly preferred
