Responsibilities
The Director of Community Development is responsible for designing and conducting community planning, implementing and tracking of community outputs and outcomes, and building community collaboratives which align with the approved community and agency strategic plan
Provide direct supervision of staff which includes developing a training plan for new hires, responding to and managing the daily needs of employees, monitoring employee performance and progress towards professional goals, approving time sheets, requests for leave, and other administrative requests
Work in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources to ensure that all employees meet and maintain basic core competencies, have professional development plans, receive at least an annual performance appraisal, and when needed, receive appropriate progressive disciplinary action per agency policy and procedures
Work in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer to develop, monitor, and maintain assigned budgets and cost allocation plans
Work in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer to seek and solicit grant funding to support program initiatives and activities
Coordinate the agency’s community revitalization programming to include planning processes and implementation strategies
Ensure the development and maintenance of a contact database for groups, businesses, organizations, volunteers and any other entity or individual involved with targeted neighborhoods
Oversee and lead physical improvement project management, which includes preparing Requests for Proposal bidding documents, coordinating the contracting process, and monitoring for execution of activities per requirements
Implement plan objectives through the use of revitalization tools, such as rehabilitation programs; existing state and federal funding sources and grant opportunities; administrative procedures; political mechanisms and legal processes, as appropriate
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university with two years demonstrated program management and supervisory experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to successfully pass Act 33/34 and FBI clearances
Valid Driver's License and car insurance with an acceptable motor vehicle report
Ability to Relocate: Harrisburg, PA 17104: Relocate before starting work
Preferred
Supervisory: 1 year
Community Development: 2 years
