F-35 Maintenance Systems (Mx Sys) Systems Engineer
ACT1 Federal is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the F-35 Joint Program Office’s Maintenance Systems Program Management Office. The role involves technical integration and architecture development for the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) and Operational Data Integrated Network (ODIN) systems, ensuring efficient support and modification processes.
Responsibilities
Assisting with establishing mid-term and long-term strategic engineering initiative
Coordinating very closely with members of Mx Sys PMO technical staff, the prime contractor, and others to collaborate on systems architecture efforts
Developing PMO roadmap integrating key data from various internal and external resources including GitLab, Jira, Confluence, etc. and automate future iterations
Supporting partner and prime integrator management discussions, and assist with briefings for MxS leadership
Providing/preparing supporting documentation for the integration of cybersecurity strategy, F-35 Fleet Management, and other technical dependencies into the MxS Architecture, Data, and Business Logic models – to ensure the tech stack is updated accordingly
Modeling the optimal modernization path forward as defined in the modernization definition (i.e. architecture at all layers), re-evaluating system workflows, standardizing data management, establishing a consistent UI/UX framework, and building a robust business layer that incorporates modern architecture e.g. domain and test-driven development, and automated pipeline testing policy and quality standards
Assisting the Mx Sys Chief Architect to produce a Product Specification for the as-delivered ALIS and ODIN products
Supporting the development of a System Specification for future versions of ALIS/ODIN
Coordinating with other internal F-35 JPO organizations and external organizations to include the Office of the Chief Information Officer and prime support contractors on key engineering initiatives
Conducting searches for and identify GOTS and COTS products which can be used to replace existing ALIS/ODIN products to reduce cost and to improve reliability
Developing action plans for incorporating software from alternate sources, including ECPs, software sustainment plans, and plans for addressing the interfaces between software from different vendors
Qualification
Required
SECRET Clearance
B.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or other related technical degree
At least 10 years' experience in Systems Engineering
Experience with software development practices including hands-on experience with full stack development
Solid experience with pipeline development, testing, automation, and all related CI/CD best practices
Knowledge of US networking, global information systems, information systems with multiple servers and boundaries (e.g. cloud-based systems)
Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and systems engineering practices
Knowledge of systems engineering tools
Knowledge of accepted project management techniques, applications and processes
Ability to manage and direct a team of engineers and other personnel as an integrated unit
Ability to prepare and present oral and written presentations to various levels of government and industry management
