The Town of Lexington is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Field Inspector in the Utilities Department. The role involves inspecting new and existing water lines, sewer lines, storm drainage lines, and streets and sidewalks to ensure compliance with state and Town specifications and regulations.

Responsibilities

Inspects new and existing water lines, sewer lines, storm drainage lines, and streets and sidewalks to ensure they are installed in accordance with state and Town specifications and regulations

Performs related technical work as required

Reports to the Director of Utilities; takes direction from the Inspector and Engineer

Performs related work as required

Performs related general and technical work as required

Qualification

Water/wastewater system constructionConstruction inspection experienceAsbestos O & M licenseCPR/First Aid certificationConfined space entry certificationTechnical college diplomaTraffic safety training

Required

High school diploma or GED

Must be able to complete & retain, as well as enforce, various training, including, but not limited to: asbestos O & M facility worker license, CPR/First Aid certification, competent person/confined space entry certification, traffic safety, etc

Must possess a valid class D South Carolina state driver's license
