Responsibilities

Manages Minnesota’s statewide Traffic Monitoring Program, ensuring accurate traffic data collection, analysis, and reporting to support planning, safety, and decision-making across MnDOT and partner agencies

Oversees program compliance with federal requirements

Supervises staff

Manages equipment and software for data collection

Provides advanced statistical analysis

Maintains enterprise datasets and tools

Collaborates with internal and external partners

Leads research and explores emerging technologies to improve data quality and program effectiveness

Qualification

Required

Two years of professional supervisory (supervising professional employees) experience OR three years of advanced professional GIS experience

Experience in data system and application design

Experience in Power BI, SQL Developer, R, or Python

Experience using GIS software to create, manage, and publish data

Experience in conducting research including background investigation, designing a study, implementation, data analysis, report preparation, and presentation

Preferred

Experience in how traffic data is used in the planning, investment, and design process

Experience in Esri GIS software

Experience in using and evaluating machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies
